Joshua Robertson

Joshua is a screen writer and comedian.

Joshua had a severe quad bike crash when he was 11 years old. He spent 4 months in a coma and now lives with a physical disability.

Joshua started performing stand-up comedy at 19 and has since performed around the world and across the UK including regular appearances at The Comedy Store in London. Joshua has performed shows at the Brighton Fringe, Camden Fringe and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. He has also been a support act for Tom Stade and Shappi Khorsandi.

Joshua featured in the BBC Three series, Amazing Humans. DAD JOKE, a comedy short film which Joshua co-wrote and stars in, was commissioned by the BFI NETWORK and Film London. It premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. Loosely based on Joshua’s life, it follows a disabled comedian performing a make-or-break gig on the night his first child is born. Joshua was awarded Best Lead Actor for DAD JOKE at the Oxford International Short Film Festival and he was selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Talent Lab Connects to develop it with a production company.

His pilot script DAD JOKE made the final nominations list for the Brit List 2022.
