Jamie Hale is a writer, performer and director.
They have written and performed work across the UK, including at the Barbican Centre, Tate Modern and Southbank Centre. In 2019, they wrote and starred in their debut solo show Not Dying at the Lyric Hammersmith and the Barbican Centre, before revising it for HOME Manchester in 2022. They also wrote When We Got Sick which was directed by Nickie Miles-Wildin for Graeae Theatre Company, and wrote and starred in I Want To Live, which was directed by Lilac Yosiphon at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Jamie is Artistic Director of the award-winning artistic development organisation CRIPtic Arts, as well as working as a researcher and contributor on the upcoming Netflix series, Kaos, and has original screenplays in development with Gaumont, House, and Channel 4.
They have had writing published by the Guardian, Wellcome Collection and numerous poetry magazines, and they are currently working on a poetry collection, follow-up to their acclaimed pamphlet Shield, and on further developing their play Quality of Life Is Not A Measurable Outcome.
