James Campbell is a comedian, storyteller & children’s author.
Over the past 20 years, he has visited over 3000 schools across the UK (3062 as of May 2023) with his unique, inspiring, educational & amusing shows. His work has taken him to theatres and festivals around the world, including Broadway in New York, three West End runs, South Bank’s Imagine Festival and the Royal Albert Hall. He has hosted the Red House Children’s Book Awards for the last 7 years and has performed at the Hay Literary Festival for over 10 years. He performed his show James Campbell’s Comedy for Kids with Chris Riddell at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Imagine festival.
He has performed his stand up for kids comedy shows at venues all across the UK and is touring his new show James Campbell – The Funny Life Of…
His hugely successful Boyface series of books are published by Hodder. The Boyface play will be launched at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024.
His Funny Life series of books now runs to four titles with the latest being The Funny Life Of Football which has been nominated for a Sunday Times Sports Book Award 2023. Previous titles in the series are The Funny Life Of Pets, The Funny Life Of Teachers and The Funny Life Of Sharks.
James lives off-grid on the Essex/Suffolk border where he is developing a food forest and a perma culture small holding.
